When a coach-client match is strong, it can unlock incredible doors and open unimaginable potential. I believe in the impact I've seen this work make on human lives. At the same time, I've struggled over the years with how to best value that impact, while working to honor both client and coach roles in the work, as well as build appropriate stakes for both parties.

You will probably notice Executive Coaching pricing varies significantly by provider.

While some coaches under- or over-value themselves, pricing usually has more to do with experience, background, who the coach serves, and track record of results.

I've worked to keep my pricing as middle-market for my industry and background as possible, seeking to offer a balance in attainability and valuing my professional contributions. You will find my pricing to feel high if you're in a smaller organization, and average if you're in a larger one. I discount self-paid services and you'll find that to feel high or average depending on your income and background with contracted services. But I believe you'll find it to be fair, given my qualifications and commitment to client experience and results.

The way I think about pricing is informed by:

  • Market studies

  • My peers who serve similar client profiles and deliver similar levels of impact

  • My background and experience as a CEO and MIT EMBA

  • My training and education in evidence-based psychology, leadership development, adult development theory, and behavioral science

  • My years' experience coaching executives & track record of clients' transformational and lasting change results

  • My commitment to an ethical practice informed by continuous learning, best practice, and honoring client dignity and agency

  • My formal certifications, trainings, and ongoing peer practice and supervision

  • My practice of transparency about the nature of a true and lasting change process and ongoing partnership evaluation and approach refinement along the way to ensure the partnership remains effective, respectful, reflective, and action-oriented

  • The value this unique combination consistently brings to clients when they describe the life-changing impact of our work, helping them get unstuck from deeply entrenched patterns to unlock the life and leadership impact they seek

Although this coach's style and apparent relationship to clients is very different than mine, I thought his description of value-based pricing was spot on.

Please feel very comfortable discussing these details with me in our initial conversation. I strive to continuously find ways to offer client and coach value.

A Note on Value
